J watched the History Channel show titled the "Black Blizzard". Excellent show. Black Blizzard brings to life the Dust Bowl that decimated the American Great Plains in the 1930's. We match modern science with special effects wizardry to reinvent the experience of living through blinding blizzards of dust, and we meet the survivors who refused to leave their land and lived to tell the tale. We also investigate the controversial history of the Great Plains - an area in the middle of the country, stretching from North Dakota to Texas - and reveal the reasons why the black blizzards ravaged the land.
J started a climbing class the the Maine Rock Gym. He loves this class!
Maine Rock Gym is a specially designed and highly controlled area that allows people of all ages to safely experience the sport of rock climbing and to take it to what ever level they desire. Our climbing facility is made up of many different walls, with more than 5,000 square feet of rock like textured climbing surface. These walls have thousands of (holds) which provide grips for hands and stances for feet. A rope goes to the top of the wall and through an anchor; this rope is attached to a climber and then comes down to a partner called a 'belayer' who pulls the slackening rope through a friction device. If the climber falls, the friction device allows the belayer to easily arrest the fall. This "top rope" protection provides a proven safe and fun climbing experience.
J & M also worked on their Future School literacy courses.
M had her cooking class at Measure Up. It sure does look yummy!
J continued his P90x workout.
During co-op the OM classes and photography courses continued. During photography they went outside and took some very cool pictures.
